I started with a trial subscription… I started with a trial subscription thinking that I would not have much need for what GenDatabase contained. Now I cannot imagine how I managed without it. I have found the responses from the team to inquiries to be Uber prompt and most helpful - thanks Yvonne. GenDatabase is a must have in any SAfrican researchers toolbox.

Gendatabase - good service at a good price This database is very useful for South African genealogy research. Although there is not always a direct link to microfiche films, the reference number is provided, allowing the original films to reviewed on the Familysearch.org website. When I couldn't find any more info on one of my relatives, Gendatabase advised that I apply for a vault copy of the birth certificate and even helped me to obtain the identity number. The membership fee of just under R300 for a month's access is very reasonable.
