About John Hall's Alaska

Quality experiences – large and small – set John Hall’s Alaska apart. In operation since 1982, nobody covers more of Alaska or provides a more enriched small-group experience. As a small family-owned and operated tour company with a passion for Alaska, personal attention, exclusive remote access, immersive cultural encounters, and included meals and activities are hallmarks of the John Hall’s Alaska experience. These guided tours travel to all five regions of Alaska – the Artic, Inside Passage, Interior, Southcentral, and Southwest – and with group sizes ranging from only 24 to 40 guests, John Hall’s Alaska provides a more intimate “real” Alaska experience. Wildlife encounters, native cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access, outdoor activities, and the finest lodging in Alaska are highlights of every departure. Combined tour offerings feature six of Alaska’s eight national parks and optional trips to the other two can be added before or after any scheduled tour. Depending on the itinerary, guests explore via a wide range of transportation modes such as luxury motorcoach, small aircraft, GoldStar first-class rail service, and small private charter vessels. To ensure the highest level of comfort, John Hall’s Alaska operates and maintains a custom-built fleet of spacious MCI motorcoaches that represent the best on the roads of Alaska. Very good personal attention Very good personal attention, such as airport pickup. Food choices generally good, but service, food, and rooms poor at Backcountry Lodge. Two hours for dinner - mostly involved waiting for next course and entries were poor. Several days were overall wasted. No need for two days at Backcountry lodge. Talkeetna was a waste as all of group was back at Lodge within two hours. Two cruises basically over the same body of water was a waste of time. Two days in Cordova not needed, especially when accommodations were poor. The unexpected plane ride over the glaciers was trip highlight. We had been to Alaska before and expected a great trip. Very disappointed. Tour manager Jeremy Riddle was very good and personable.

When looking at the tour price, ypunderstand that this includes EVERYTHING. You only pay for the souvenirs you choose to purchase. Transportation is provided to and from the airport.t The assistance we received from first inquiry to the end of the tour was professional and inquiries were promptly answered. Our tour guide is native to Alaska and her love for her home state was so obvious! She was well informed on the areas we were traveling and was attentive to the needs of everyone in the group. I have recommended John Hall to many people already!

National Parks Tour Overall the tour was very good. Dealing with John Hall's Alaska was very simple and easy. They were always very helpful and got back to us on a very timely basis. The only thing was their timing about updating us about their covid protocols, it should had been done prior to meet & greet dinner. This was disappointing because my wife got covid during our vacation. Again the tour was very good and our tour director was excellent.

I will recommend them to anyone. I have been to Alaska 6 times now (with John Hall’s Alaska), I have been to Alaska for every season. There’s something awesome every time I go there. The accommodations are top notch, the food is superb, and the tour guides are very knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating to anyone with disabilities. And the wildlife and marine animals that you see up close (moose, bears, Dall sheep, harbor seals, humpback whales, just to name a few. You can never go wrong with John Hall’s Alaska.
