Well organized, informative trips by Classic Journeys This was our second Classic Journeys trip. They excel at being well organized and taking seamless care of all the details that people take organized trips for -- ie. hotel reservations, bus and plane transport,meals, guides, entry fees, etc. We have had excellent guides that enhanced our trip experience. Not so active, but they really provide good basis for cultural and historical learning.

Stay away! The hotels were fabulous, so I gave an extra star for that. We took the Classic Journeys trip to Southeast Asia and it was so poorly handled that all the participants were shocked, emailing and calling the company mid-trip and swore never to go one another one of their trips again. Poor to no communications, mediocre guides who didn't have the itinerary, no information on our internal flights, had to beg for the final itinerary before we left, are meals included or not?, the guides didn't know. I could go on and on. And it seemed as if Classic Journeys didn't even care ("we've never had a trip with issues before") or apologize. A small credit towards a future journey with a company you cannot trust, doesn't seem to cut it. This is not just me, every person in the group felt the same way.

My 2 Italian tours . My 2 Italian tours with Classic Journeys were first class in every way. The guides that accompanied our small group were caring, educated, organized and fun. The local guides which joined us at different times were also very well-informed and professional and very enjoyable. Our meals were delicious 5 star quality with free flowing wine at every dinner. The hotels were immaculate and historic with top notch service. I would recommend Classic Journeys.

Unethical behavior Booked a trip for May 2020: paid $600 deposit. Trip canceled by company (Covid) deposit rolled over to next trip Rescheduled for May 2021: canceled by company. (Covid) Deposit rolled over to next trip Rescheduled for May2022. Cancelled by company:insufficient amount of enrollees. Company refuses to return deposit. Will credit it towards a future trip.

Multi-sport trip to Iceland We travel a lot, but just took our first trip with Classic Journeys a few weeks ago. Our small group "multi-sport" trip to Iceland was simply wonderful, from glacier hikes and ice caves, to riding Icelandic horses on the black sand beach, to hiking or snorkeling in the mid-Atlantic rift between tectonic plates. Our guide was one of the best we've ever had, incredibly knowledgable and just fun to be with. We'll travel with Classic Journeys again!
