GBWe stayed at Montcler in Sandwich We stayed at Montcler in Sandwich, Il. It is a beautiful hotel. Architecture, lobby, mural is gorgeous, but they are under staffed and outdated. Upon arrival our reservation was messed up. 35 minutes later we were in our room. Room is spacious. Air conditioner runs you out. Super cold and hard to regulate. Bath tub is shallow and extremely slippery. My husband and I both almost fell. Bed is super hard, it feels like to box springs, and pillows extremely small. Upon entering elevator I noticed a fruitloop on the floor and it stayed there our entire visit of four days. Everyday we left, every night we came back we were locked out (and NO key card was not near phone) hot water does come if you let shower run 5 to 10 minutes. Every morning we went for continental breakfast. It consisted of overly thick coffee, toast, instant oatmeal, dried cereal and juice. Not our type of breakfast. At the entrance of hotel the workers take their smoke break and when doors open smoke enters the lobby. At the front entrance inside door their are several rugs, one is bunched up and I tripped on it, second is torn and flipped up. The bar and restaurant are closed. I was told they need a cook. The hot tub is broken and I was told it has been for quite sometime. The pool is super cold. Probably 80 to 81 degrees. The trash containers on second floor and third floor remained full. I was extremely disappointed. I slept in a office chair since bed was to hard. The person who cleaned our room did an excellent job, front desk girls were super nice and informative.
