GBTrue EXPERTS- Honest business! Scott and the team at Cottman are Knowledgeable, Honest and Thorough when it comes to transmission diagnosis. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle and within a month, had transmission issues (the vehicle had 100,000 miles). Without the expertise of Scott and Cottman, I would not have been able to successfully have the dealership take responsibility for the repair. He coached me, educated me and was able to inform me about my vehicle without charging me a dime to look it over. Incredible customer service. I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know!! And I will keep them in mind for future car maintenance! Thank you Scott and Cottman :)

GBWe all fear getting ripped off by a… We all fear getting ripped off by a dishonest mechanic. That's exactly what happened to me after I brought my truck into cottman's Transmissions. This place is a nightmare. do yourself a favor and bring your vehicle somewhere else. My truck was making a specific noise so I brought it in the cottman's. They looked at it and determined it was the transfer case. I okayed them to do to work on the transfer case. An expensive repair. After picking up my vehicle and driving it home from the shop I noticed it had the same noise. They were closed so I called them the next day and they said my truck had two separate issues. A transfer case issue and a rear axle issue. Somewhere in our conversations I mention reverse slipped once or twice when I first bought the vehicle but it hasn't happened for 6 months prior to them working on it. They attempted to spin it by saying I said reverse wasn't working and they test drove it and it was slipping in reality. Reverse was working fine when I dropped it off to them and they say they test drove it and all of a sudden it's slipping? Anyone with common sense can figure out they were trying to cover themselves. Nice spin.THEY TOLD ME THAT BY REBUILDING THE TRANSFER CASE THAT WOULD ELIMINATE THE NOISE AND AT NO POINT DID THEY TELL ME THAT THE WORK THEY PERFORMED WOULD NOT ELIMINATE THE NOISE UNTIL AFTER THEY DID THE WORK AND CHARGED ME $2,200. Whether my truck was having two separate issues or not they misdiagnosed the problem and did nothing to rectify it. I even talked to the owner Jim and I was shocked when he offered no resolution. This shop is good at taking your money but bad at diagnosing and fixing the problem. Totally dishonest and unprofessional. Take your vehicle somewhere else!

GBExcellent Service! I took my car to Cottman Transmission in Wheatridge. I have to say that the customer service that Scott gave to me personally and face to face as well as the service of the others working behind the scene was outstanding! Scott provides good old fashioned customer service! Greets you with a smile and handshake, listens and is able to describe the car's problem in a way that makes sense. He also met the estimate that he gave me before starting the job. Cottman Transmission has a new life long customer because of Scott! Sincerely, Beth Beery
