"Misrepresents themselves" I would give zero stars if I could. Claims to be affiliated with Amazon Publishing. Beatrice Woodsman and AmazonpublishingUS state they are the US branch of Amazon Publishing; Amazon Publishing is in Seattle Washington and Seattle is part of the US so no need for a US office in Florida. I contacted Amazon Publishing and they specifically told me that AmazonPublishingUS was quote "definitely misrepresenting themselves as Amazon Publishing". When I confronted Beatrice Woodsman, the founder, owner, and person that had contacted me, with what Amazon Publishing had said of AmazonPublishingUS, she (Beatrice Woodsman) responded with racist and homophobic comments which I have on text, and then laughed. Further, all of her 5 star ratings look suspicious to me for the following reasons: 1) "ghostwriting" is not editing, the purpose of a "ghostwriter" is so no one knows you needed "help" in writing your manuscript. Who would pay money for "ghostwriting" so no one knows you needed "help" and then thank her in public for how her "ghostwriting" (which is supposed to be invisible) that made your book perfect. That defeats the entire purpose of hiring a "ghostwriter" in the first place. Yet some of the reviews from November 2023 thank her for her "ghostwriting" services. 2) Using the advanced search feature on google books and searching by author, I was not able to find anything written by John C. McKay after 1979, which was published in 1984, but by publicist John Benjamins Publishing Company not amazonpublishingUS.com; nor can i find any books in the works by John C. McKay. Yet he gave AmazonpublishingUS a 5-star rating a few weeks ago? That does not make sense! 3) Using Google Books Advanced Search by author and also Amazon Book's Advanced Search features to search by author the last book that I was able to find written by Carolyn Philips was Mina May in 2022 but that was published with iUniverse out of Indiana not amazonpublishingUS out of Florida. Yet she gave amazonpublishingUS.com a 5-star rating just a few weeks ago? I could also not find any books in the works from her using amazonpublishingUS as her publicist. Now it is possible that the John C. McKay and Carolyn Philips that wrote such glowing 5-Star reviews could be different people trying to become published authors, that just happen to have the same names as already published authors, or that these already published authors abandoned thier more prestigious publishers to go with AmazonpublishingUS.com. But if that is the case I still have a problem. Normally reviews are written after the publicist has finished - so the books should show up using the google advanced search by author or publicist. Even books in the works that have not been published yet show up in these searches so it is very strange that I cannot find any that would match the 5-star reviews Beatrice Woodsman and AmazonpublishingUS.com have received in November 2023. My final concern is that in the Linked-In profile for AmazonpublishingUS.com it shows author Laine Faro as an employee of amazonpublishingus.com, but Laine Faro publishes through Creative Book Writers as recently as September 2023. For me this creates two interesting scenarios A) Laine Faro might indeed work for AmazonpublishingUS and Beatrice Woodsman in a publishing company (I dont know) but if she does, she does not trust her boss enough to let her anywhere near her manuscripts, which certainly would not inspire me with the confidence to hire Beatrice Woodsman or AmazonpublishingUS to publish my book. or ....... I am not saying Beatrice Woodsman is lying or that AmazonpublishingUS is not legit but find it very strange that a company has 5-star reviews from two (2) authors, 1 who has not published in over 40 years the other who uses a different publicist, neither one of which have books on record as even being in development with amazonpublishingus that I could find; and at the same time has a pretty well published author who could choose who she wanted to work for, on staff at a company she wont let publish her manuscripts. Like I said I find it very strange, well maybe not so strange after all When I remember what the real authentic Amazon Publishing said about amazonpublishingUS. I know the conclusion I came to to help me resolve these "strange concerns". You will have to decide how you resolve them.

GBSave yourself the trouble and don't do it. Some things to know: This is not Amazon. As in you think you are dealing with the huge company that is Amazon and you are not. They are not in any way affiliated with Amazon.com. I brought to their attention this misinformation and they said (which is accurate) that they are within their rights to market themselves as they see fit. How it works; if you contact them via chat, and tell them what you want, they will negotiate a fee for "publishing" your book. Sometime later (weeks or months, depending on how it goes) you will receive a copy of you published manuscript. It may or may not (not, in my case) be formatted correctly. They will then bounce you around to a number of different people within the company and may or may not (again, not, in my case) send you another version of your manuscript, correctly published. What's actually happening: You are dealing with a virtual company. By virtual I mean supposedly Amazonpublishing.us is based in Miami FL. Google the address and you will find many other business registered to the same address. Look at your credit card statement and you will find it has been billed by prologobiz.com. A company based out of Maryland if you try and look up their address. Their phone number comes up as Texas. In this day and age, I don't really care if you are virtual company or not, until something goes wrong. Then I want responsible parties who can be tracked down. These folks aren't publishing anything. They are contracting a company called Lulu.com (look them up) and they are in fact the ones publishing your manuscript. You can contact Lulu and publish directly through them and save a whole bunch of money (wish I knew this and that's why I'm sharing it with you). Part of the problem is Lulu has a pdf template for formatting your book and the cover of said book. Amazonpublishing.us doesn't show you this, and that where the problems begin. I can't verify this, but I believe you are actually talking with a call center in another country when you speak with them (based off the noisy, non-native English speaking chatter in the background). I don't mind, if you are up front about this, if this is how you organize your business. Caveat et emptor. Hopefully this saves you some headaches and some dollars. If the manuscript was delivered on time and properly formatted, I would have been none the wiser, but here we are months later and a 1 star review.
