GBHaving a responsive point of contact makes all the difference I used Nexus Auto Transport to ship my vehicle to Anchorage as part of a relocation. Now as they are a broker, think of them as a contractor, and then they used two subcontractors -- one to take the vehicle from my former location to a port in Washington, and a second subcontractor to ship the vehicle from there to Anchorage via barge. So there are a lot of moving parts, so it is especially helpful to have a central point of contact to keep things going smoothly despite setbacks. The representative I had, Rich, did just that -- he made arrangements for the surface transportation, but when the vehicle carrier insisted on arriving one day earlier than scheduled or he wouldn't do it at all (while I was yet out of town), he scrambled to get someone from a different company dispatched and on time. All else went well. The barge portion of the journey used Matson as the carrier...they handled things very smoothly and on time, and they run a very secure operation in Anchorage. Although all was not perfect, the end result was what counted, and I have my car here in Alaska, on time and in excellent shape. Will go ahead and highly recommend. --SJR
