GBCDL Truck Driver to Tech I actually have never needed a LinkedIn in any of my careers but I saw information about getting into tech with little experience from Instagram so I joined LinkedIn and that’s when I kept seeing Level Up In Tech everywhere. Every other post I would see was someone celebrating another win, whether it be a certification or a six-figure job and I just knew I couldn’t ignore it and I had to join. Why wouldn’t I join a winning team? It only made sense. I believed I could have the same success when I saw stories like Kinsey going from no experience being an entrepreneur running an Etsy shop to Devops Engineer. To be successful you HAVE TO LISTEN. You may think something is insignificant or it doesn’t make a big difference but it does! Everything that the coaches tell you to do, you need to do it and even do it times two. I had absolutely zero experience and I was driving a tractor-trailer while doing all of my work! If you want something you have to put in the work to do it and you have to make the time to go get the things that you want. In this job market they also teach you how to market and brand yourself, which is a huge part of landing your next career. Being introverted, I didn’t really want to be on display on LinkedIn, but I wanted the success and I did what they told me to do and it paid off. The saying goes “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink”. Level Up in Tech gives you the keys, but you have to do the work, your success is ultimately up to you!
