Has its moments of greatness Fortis has been a good option for our child. The special care for special needs children is unbeatable. However, our opinions of discipline vary greatly. Fortis tries to keep the student at school ad much as possible, understandably. However, certain issues, like hitting, kicking, spitting, and biting should be reprimanded more harshly. I have had multiple people try to talk me out of picking my child up when they have chosen to behave in such a manner. Overall, Fortis has lots of family oriented events and they truly try to keep the Fortis Family involved in the children's education. The deans, principal, and staff members really get to know the students and it is a much more welcoming environment for the children than most of the schools in the area.

My advice from a mother of four… My advice from a mother of four children within this school do not send your child to fortis academy under any circumstances, The teachers are disrespectful immature and abusive and racial towards the pupils with no training on how to conduct themselves or control anything they developed personal vendettas towards children. They have teaching assistants teaching classes who are not qualified for this, they run the school like a prison ensuring pupils are regularly put in isolation or long durations of detention for minor issues without contacting parents resulting in children leaving school at late times which is a big safeguarding issue and is not appropriate. The headteacher is nasty, rude and non caring to your concerns and a good liar if you can even get to see him as your often entertained by the non caring deputy head. During the 3 years of involvement within the school my kids have been emotionally, physically and mentally abused which I have video evidence as I asked my kids to record when they feel threatened and it’s pushed under the carpet by staff which I will be taking this further. Your child will not learn within this school just develop behaviour problems, and a bad report at the end. The school itself is in bad condition not fit for children to learn in prisons are in better condition check it out for yourself. In all there is nothing good to say about this school and ofstead should shut this school down and start again for the sake of childrens education and wellbeing.

People are nonsense People there are so nonsense that they obligate children to be outside during the Winter. Even if you ask them to not go outside because you have sinusitis, they obligate you. It's so ridiculous that people who live in a could place have no sense about the diseases that can get worse on winter.

Fortis Academy is the best school I have been involved with Fortis Academy for about eight years. I have been very pleased with the school. The teachers, the principal, and the staff are all friendly, professional, helfpful, and always cheerful. Overall, the school is a model for excellence.
