CASL2 - It's good Using SL2 is a fairly decent process, with some friction points when getting into the nitty gritty of using the software. I do like that you can import translations directly and that makes building courses anew in another language must faster. I do like the versatility of layers, states and triggers. As well there are many valuable templates created by community users that can be gleaned and updated for your own needs. When working with a module that is large, the SL2 file can become unstable and corrupt - which is no fun - and in my experience not recoverable. It does not create a good mobile user experience unless you build a course that is specifically designed for the mobile experience, so that means multiple courses for the same content.

GBFrustrating and annoying - I don't enjoy using this This software is frustrating to navigate and annoying to animate with. It's very annoying that it does not work on mac either. It's extremely flimsy and things like the timeline are just so awkward to scroll, zoom in and out of, find what I need, delete things etc. It is very similar to windows power point, which is too clunky and slow to have more advanced animation and design like this, and I think it should be more similar to actual video edit/animate/design software like premier pro than powerpoint. Needs an overhaul. Having it blacklit instead of bright white would be a good idea too. Overall very annoying to use.

GBGreat products and people I've been doing learning development for several years. I've used many different tools from authorware to captivate to flash. Articulate has some of the best products I've ever used. They are easy to learn, but can do soo much more than you realize at the beginning. There always seems to be more tip learn. I love it. There support is great. My pc at work had died. They were ablebto get me going on my new machine in less than one day. I barely had to stop working. Great products. Great people.

GBWell-rounded software package Articulate has really stepped up their game with the new 360 launch. The Articulate Review service is brilliant and has greatly reduced the amount of annoying tasks we have to go through to review Storyline files internally. Rise is an excellent way to quickly and easily build e-learning projects, while Storyline remains a strong, much more complex partner. The content library is full of great stuff that can easily be used in projects.

GBExpensive and increasingly buggy Having historically left existing customers in the lurch by switching to a subscription model with no cheap upgrade from previous full versions, this software is now prohibitively EXPENSIVE. Compared to say Adobe CC, it’s off the scale in terms of what you get (or rather don’t get) for your money. However, we held our noses and took the plunge due to requirements of existing clients, but were disappointed to find this software has become increasingly buggy and their fixes create new bugs elsewhere, suggesting that they don’t test properly, particularly regression. It’s becoming embarrassing to use in a professional context when building courses for external clients. Our internal QA/testing costs have ROCKETED as a result so we’re now looking at more robust alternatives.
