It also plays nice and integrates well with many other necessary services.

Reliable I have been following development of LifterLMS for about 4 years and I use it on several sites. Never let me down. You can accomplish a lot already with its free version. I was considering several alternatives as a lecturer with experience in the field of e-learning and at the same time with limited technical abilities.
