GBA handyman service - Just don’t do it… A handyman service - Just don’t do it… I had a very unfortunate experience with Deal Handyman, and I urge all others to not use this service to avoid encountering the same issues themselves. On 23 August 2023 I commissioned Deal Handyman to complete a number of tasks for me - one of which was to install and hang a number of pictures for me. The work was duly completed, to what I thought was an acceptable standard. Unfortunately, on 1 October, a picture that they installed fell off the wall and crashed down to the floor. The work that they had completed was clearly unsafe and not fit for purpose. On reporting this issue to Deal Handyman, I requested that they refit my picture, making sure that their work was fit for purpose and safe. The reply I received was a refusal to do this. They suggested that my frame was the issue (incorrect) and that they would accept no responsibility for this. But they’d happily send someone out to make the work safe, but only if I paid an additional hourly rate to do so. I find this refusal unacceptable. But I have suffered a brain haemorrhage, a stroke and have been in a coma. I am now permanently wheelchair bound, with both legs paralysed and I’m spasticated, and therefore safety is paramount to me. So I’m now unable to pick a picture off the floor, amend the fitting of a picture hook and re-hang the frame. Therefore I find this refusal doubly unacceptable. I am now left with no choice - I have contacted Citizens Advice and will now take legal action against Deal Handyman. So my advice is, based on my experience, only use this service if you don’t care about the safety of the work and not fit for purpose is acceptable to you. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE - THEY ARE JUST COWBOYS THAT CARE MORE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY THAN THEY DO ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR WORK.

GBEasy! Handymanservice made getting this project completed easy. The companies I contacted were able to provide estimates as well as let me know how quickly they could work my project into the schedule. They were a pleasure to work with and I will use this service again.

GBGreat assistance! I took the recommendations from Home Advisor, asked for several cost estimates and was very pleased with the results.

GBHandyman treats their employees like UNFAIRLY Handyman treats their employees like they work in third world country with extremely low wages. They are unfair and unethical. I purchased a closet system that cost almost $1,300. I opted to pay the $667 for installation given it was 96” long and boxes very heavy I thought that was fair but expensive. They sent two workers to my home which was appropriate. I also received a summary of who workers were and the price they were being paid $388. When one of the workers ask me “what I paid for the installation” I told him $667. They both then told me they only were getting $38 each for job and showed me their app validating what they were telling me. I was stunned and appalled. I was then very upset and called Handyman. I was told one of the two managers would return my call but neither did. These workers for Handy should RISE up and say no more. It is unfair practice and misleading customer to make it seem workers are being paid more than they are. VERY UNETHICAL and EXTREMELY UNFAIR. “Handyman” work for Wayfair, Target, Lowes, Walmart just to name a few. We as customers should all stand up for these workers. I am shocked they get away with this. They are also ripping me off, the customer. I pay $667, they pay workers 38x2=$76 and they keep $590. What is the justification for this. What a racket and scam! Stand Up!
