Great product - saved so much time! Used Otter.ai to transcribe interviews for research. Cut the time spent transcribing by more than half. Generally very accurate. Have recommended to friends and would use again. Best feature is where you can click on a word in the transcription and the audio will play from there. I absolutely recommend I find the note-taking tool to be very useful. The meeting scheduling (using my Google calendar), summarizing, listing key points and how easy it is to share meeting notes with others is top-notch. I can fully focus during meetings because I can always return to Otter to get key points from my meetings. And yes, this review was provided as part of a promotion from Otter. I haven't given 5 stars here simply because the AI still mixes up speakers sometimes but I know it will get better with advancements.

Quick review of what you missed I used otter.ai to record a coaching session with a coachee. After the session is uploaded I will be able to check out what other questions I could have asked but did not. It reminded me the areas I should look into for future sessions. This is important as I am still trying to improve my coaching skills for the ICF certification.

Limited usefulness Useful to get the first, low quality draft transcript, which can then be corrected by a human. I can see a use case here, having spent a lot of time typing up my transcripts manually. It still requires a fair bit of work, but the editing interface is pleasant to work with - until it starts to mess with the text, trying to realign it with audio after I enter my edits. Then the transcript becomes uneditable for a while. Speaker recognition is a complete hit or miss. I would not rely on that at all. Summaries are not only useless, they are actually counterproductive. I was expecting the program to not understand what was discussed at all or to understand it partially. I was surprised to notice it quite often misunderstands it in the worst possible way, i.e. it reverses the meaning of the conversation. Imagine running a business on that!

This app is designed originally to sole… This app is very sneaky. It is designed to stole your data. It was installed into my computer without my intention, right after a meeting and spread through someone's email showing the recored of the meeting. It is without sender's intention nor notice either. After that it goes to all my meetings and send record to all my meeting attendees. I spent lots lot time still can't figure out how to delete it. It is terrible. It is by default going to all your meetings and stole all your conversation, data, image and video... If you don't want these terrible experience and don't want to lose your data. don't touch it. Finally I tried to delete it by log in their website. but still don't know if it is successful. Awful thief!!!!
