I wanted to thank you all so much and… I wanted to thank you all so much and will forever be grateful for finding and being part of such a wonderful place as Pacific Teen Treatment, which you all make possible. The progress our son made during his time with you at PTT is simply incredible and my family, especially myself, have benefited so much. I can only describe it as an “amazing journey”. I wish we could have met under different circumstances but wouldn’t have wanted a different team to guide and bring us up from the lowest point of our life. Thank you for helping our family get through our time of crisis. The caring attention, correspondence, professionalism, pinpointing and making me aware of things I was blind to, while getting our son to open up and realize he’s not in it alone and that he and people can change, is something I admire. With our son now transitioned home we acknowledge that there still is a lot more individual and family work that has to happen but as a family system we are all much better off. Our home is calm, topics are discussed, and timeouts are taken when needed. We have all learned how to identify what we are feeling and how to better express our feelings in a non-blaming way. We are spending time together; our son is interacting with his sister and it’s a pleasure to see our son smile. Creating a Home Contract with the clinical team prior to coming home really helped establish a framework for communication, respect and understanding. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Highly recommend! When we realized our son needed a higher level of care, residential treatment scared the hell out of us! We called several facilities across the country and became even more skeptical when learned about other programs. Most facilities were "lock-down" facilities and focused on a punitive style of therapy. We later learned how outdated this method was and decided against programs that appeared to only "warehouse" struggling kids. I couldn't understand or come to grips with this style of punitive treatment when our son had done nothing wrong, he just needed someone to understand him and learn how to cope and heal. When we made the call to Pacific Teen Treatment, Jeremy knew exactly where we were sitting and gave us hope for treatment...treatment not only our son, but for our entire family! I have been trying to come up with the words to capture the beauty and love put into the program at PTT. Our son was there for 2 months and received the best care. Each staff member from director, therapist, clinical assistant and chef contributes their unique talents and gifts to the program and the families they serve. They do so without question or judgement which is what mattered most to my son. The education we received as parents will be treasured and put to good use throughout our lifetime. We understand that there will still be bumps along the road but we feel more confident every day and we are thankful for the continued support of PTT even after discharge! It's never easy trusting someone to care for your child, even more so when your child is struggling. Confidence was established immediately at PTT which made trust that much easier! Thank you Pacific Teen! You've changed our lives for the better!

Pacific Teen Treatment - Unique & Effective Pacific Teen Treatment (PTT) is a unique and very special program. My 17-year-old daughter came home at the end of last month after spending 56 days there. She returned in a completely different place as a result of her time there and our entire family is now on a much better path. I can’t say enough good things about PTT, nor how grateful I am that we found it. All of our lives have been changed for the better by PTT. I personally find it difficult to think of PTT as “residential” because it is so fundamentally different than other out-of-home mental health treatment programs for struggling adolescents. A number of years ago, my oldest son struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues as an adolescent and ultimately went to a traditional residential program. He did receive some much-needed help, but he also experienced a certain level of additional trauma because he was exposed to a number of kids with problems quite different and, in some cases, much more severe than his own. Some had histories of violent and sexually predatory behavior; others had extensive involvement with the legal system. This part of his experience scared me when it became clear that my daughter needed more intensive help than we could provide at home. PTT is targeted to a particular range of kids who are suffering from mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. The type of kids PTT is designed to help act out in a variety of unhealthy ways that significantly interfere with their own well-being and almost universally bring their family relationships into crisis. These kids may be using substances or sneaking out at night or harming themselves or considering suicide or isolating in their rooms or refusing to go to school or doing any number of other things as they attempt to cope with their emotional distress – but that emotional distress is still just a few layers down and the central issue that needs to be addressed. PTT is relatively short-term as residential treatment programs go. The typical client stays 30 to 60 days as opposed to many months. The reason this works is that the PTT program is intensive. Each kid is assigned a care team. Individual therapy occurs daily and group therapy multiple times each day. PTT works with a maximum of 6 kids at any given time and the small cohort of kids plays an important role in the therapeutic process. One thing I noticed during my daughter’s time at PTT is that parents who send their kids there seem to come in with varying levels of feeling that their kid is “the problem.” With PTT’s help, nearly all of us seemed to realize pretty quickly that our kids’ issues didn’t emerge in a vacuum and we had work to do alongside our teens. Family work is a big part of what makes PTT successful. This includes family therapy sessions with the kid and parents, as well as multi-family groups run by an experienced therapist that bring together all the kids and their families. The program also offers parent sessions for the kids’ parents to share and learn from one another and a family therapist. Jeremy Manne, PTT’s Director, has a deep background in adolescent residential treatment, having worked at a number of other programs prior to founding PTT. Developing PTT as an alternative, more effective residential treatment model for teens struggling in particular ways is obviously an ongoing labor of love for him and the team he has assembled. He can help you figure out if your kid is the right fit for what PTT has to offer and if not, he’ll be straight with you. PTT harbors no delusions about being the right program for every struggling kid – which is why it can serve the kids it does so well.

Sending my daughter to PTT was the best… Sending my daughter to PTT was the best decision that I ever made. We were at the point where we did not know what to do. Everything that we tried did not help and we are at our wits end. After doing lots of research, I came across PTT, which was exactly what I was looking for. Once I talked to Jeremy, I knew this was the right place for us. Jeremy and the staff were not only welcoming but they communicated with us every step of the way. They always made themselves available for questions And they kept us in the loop. My daughter was at PTT for 45 days and she came home a brand new person. from the time we dropped her off to the time we picked her up, it was a night and day difference; she looked and seemed a lot happier and healthier. transitioning home the first couple of weeks was a little rough but we got back into the swing of things pretty quickly. Our daughter has been home for about 5 months now and still has not reverted back into her old ways. PTT helped her deal with her issues, frustrations and feelings and showed her how to manage them. It is so nice to have our daughter back!!!!! I would highly recommend PTT to anyone that has a teen that needs help. It's obvious that it isn't just a job to all of the staff, they really care about the teens and their well-being.

There is help It is, at best, "difficult" and at it's worst, "a devastating crisis" to try and find resources for teens that struggle with anxiety and depression. Pacific Teen Treatment and its team of professionals not only educated us about the process of treatment but provided us transformative tools, as a family, to begin to move forward and support our children. The approach is about mind, body and soul and the healing is about us all. Thank you!
