Bad Kickstarter experience with Orba project (still waiting after over a year) Backed the Orba project on Kickstarter. After more than a year of waiting I have still not received a tracking number or estimate for delivery time. Apparently there are still hundreds (if not thousands) of backers who have not received the unit, while it is already commonly available in shops. Based on comments there were also problems in the previous Kickstarter project. Avoid.

Truly amazing instrument Truly amazing instrument! No experience necessary to create fantastic beats and melodies. The Orba works with my DAW and synths on my MacBook as well as with my music apps on my iPad and iPhone. But none of these is necessary because the Orba has it’s own built in synth that has endless possibilities. I’m sure more exciting additions are in the works. Finally, Artiphon’s customer service is second to none.

Kickstarter pledge NOW fulfilled My husband contributed $90 to Artiphon's Kickstarter in January 2020 (or maybe earlier). It is now February 20, 2021and he still has not received his Orba, or any apology or other communication. Very dishonest! Update: Orba has made things right for us! Though the original Kickstarter process did not work well for us, when Orba found out the problem they immediately sent us an Orba and silicone protector. The Orba is a really cool device!

The Orba 2 is AmAzing The Orba 2 is AmAzing! A very very cool tool with unlimited potential for creativity. The customer service was very good too, although turnaround in responses to emails usually took 24-48 hours so I got the sense it was a smaller company.

Looks nice, but very bad software: Don't buy! I got my kickstarter Orba way too late. Weeks after I bought another one online. About the same price. The software is very bad (no save/load). Not suitable for serious stand-alone use. It can be used as a midi controller via a USB-cable. But there are better and cheaper solutions for that. Artiphon constantly promises improvement. Nothing. I wouldn't buy it until Artiphon has the software in order ... PS: Yes, this is Artiphon's standard response. Translation: - temporary = 4 months already - it's our top priority = apart from selling cool stuff with bad software without a decent warning - we are perfecting this feature = not possible because it is no longer there.
