When you connect your wallet they gain access to your private key and will drain everything of value from it. We had lost 22,000 previously after a cointool presale IDO but did not link them because the DEV had given us malicious code in the contract anyway. We immediately blamed him for the loss in presale as well since he had access to the private key. Since then it took 3 months to recover and when we learned to create a private key that would only interact with that site and would not be given to anyone but myself. Literally hours after the presale completed, all the funds, 19,000USD value was drained from the fund.
