GBSCAM!!! OPT OUT!!! SCAM!!! TERRIBLE!!! I had a loan with Michigan First Credit Union and they added this foul company to my loan as insurance. Just like 70% of the work force I was put on unemployment due to both my job going out of business on March 13,2020 but also the Covid that started March 16,2020. As I kept making payments to the credit union I was told that my insurance was through “ALLIED”, who says I DO NOT have insurance with them. 3-years goes by with me making all of my payments on time and by shear dumb luck I was able to find out that in fact “Securian” who is owner by “ALLIED” has my insurance policy on the loan. First they only covered 1 payment then proceeded to take care of only 3 months of payments. I was told to start another claim but use the dates after what has already been submitted. Now I have some person telling me that they need proof that I was receiving the unemployment benefits which is fine but they are also asking for proof that I was working at least 24 hours per week. Sounds like they are trying NOT TO PAY, and get me to say I was working and getting unemployment. Bottom line is that I paid for coverage and this ripoff company does not want to pay out. I also blame these credit unions for adding this scam to loans and not vetting the company, my guess is that they are getting paid too. OPT OUT AND FIND YOUR OWN INSURANCE!!!

GBTerrible Customer Service At a time where customer service is little more than an ironic misnomer, Securian somehow manages to lower an already low bar for the profession. Our State life insurance is via Securian, and this company's customer service agents (when you can reach one) are rude and have been very unhelpful with answering the most basic questions. Their "secure messages" are difficult to open and it is painfully difficult to find useful information about their "services". They have provided erroneous information to me on several occasions and if they ever say they will call you back to address a problem....forget about it. Overall, a company that feels it has no accountability to their customers. I don't know if this is a result of being a program administered for State of Delaware employees, or if they are this way with everybody.
