Great roommate matching They have a really good process for finding roommates for someone new to the city - the people i'm living with are great. The quality of the apartment is ok - but not really something splitspot handles. Landlord is responsive tho

NEVER Rent with SplitSpot Have never had customer service as poor as this before. Never received keys to the building, lock boxes were empty and no codes had even been provided. 6 weeks with broken AC during two 95 degree heatwaves in Boston and after 3 weeks all they did was reset the breaker, AC was never even fixed, I was just moved out. Was then charged for full utilities even with the broken AC, $75 out of my security deposit just to review the property even after photos of empty clean room were provided? Tours of the apartment with no notice given, and we were only informed of any visits after they would have come.

I’m having a couple of bad experiences… I’m having a couple of bad experiences with split spot. There’s good.. tho when money is involved the bad is bad. Coercing tenants to resign to another lease, not even half way through their original; just to charge us more is CRIMINAL Making mistakes on our bills IS UNACCEPTABLE. Constantly changing third party’s where tenants are suppose to pay their utilities is the reason behind splitspot charging its tenants “overdue payments” for utilities. Due to there incompetence. It sucks because I really liked this place and what it had to offer in terms of a setting.

Just don't You're going to be looking for a place to live in Boston, DC, New York, wherever. You're going to see that a vast number of living spaces w/roommates are managed by this company. You're going to look up reviews and think the same thing I did. "There's no way they can be that bad, right?" And indeed, right. There's no one way Splitspot can be that bad, just a thousand different unexpected ways that will assail you throughout your time living at one of their properties. Lack of responsiveness, weird fees out of nowhere, lack of responsiveness, no legitimate or serious vetting of your roommates, being told to try nonexistent fixes for utility issues for days before someone was sent out (I can't push the red button under the sink because there is no red button under the sink), and did I mention the lack of responsiveness? You're going to try to rationalize the choice -- well, they have most of the listings in the city, they must be legit, right? Please don't make the same mistakes I did. The only reason this isn't 0 stars is because the site won't let me and the bathroom ceiling only started leaking brown goo a few weeks before I moved out, so comparatively it wasn't too much of a hassle. If you're desperate and think you can't do better, believe me, you can.

Satisfied with the Service I have been living in the Splitspot places for over two years. Though there had been some problems throughout this time, I am mostly satisfied with their service. I could reach Splitspot people through email, and usually the problems that I faced got solved soon.
