Fulfilling Freelance Work! I've been with Arc since 2018 and I've worked on a range of projects with Arc clients. I freelance on top of my day job so I was not interested in finding roles that felt like yet another set of chores to do after work. With Arc, I was able to find opportunities to solve fun engineering challenges and expand my professional skills and network. Arc also provided me an outlet to work in roles beyond my usual job title as an engineer. I've been able to build online courses, work with startups, perform live interviews with an audience of thousands of users, and mentor new engineers. Big waste of time. Big waste of time. They have consultants do a "short" 2.5 hour test, and there's 3 more steps to the interview process. It's similar in effort to applying to a full-time job, but just for the ability to bid on projects that generally pay below-market rates. Or, at least, I think it'd be similar in effort to a full-time role. Whoever I was supposed to have an interview with ghosted me. They also have an unhealthy obsession with hourly rates in an industry where clients want to pay for results.
