CAAmazing Scotland/Shetland Knitting Tour I recently returned from the Scotland/Shetland Knitting Tour and had an absolutely wonderful time. The trip was very well organized and the fabulous, knowledgeable, funny, Scottish guide Kirsty was able to flexibly time manage and manoeuvre us through all manner of textile and historic sites with ease. To be immersed in the world of Shetland knitting was so inspiring. Not only did I learn lots from these Shetland teachers, but my fellow tour mates were equally inspiring with their beautiful knits. This tour exceeded my expectations and for anyone who has a passion for knitting and all things textile I know they’d love this tour as much as I did.

GB5 BIG shiny stars I think having the basics all correct is the start to a good trip. The venues were well researched, the timing from one event to another all worked. It seems like a small thing but with out the basics of the trip being correct nothing could go right. I too if a well organized and executed trip the professionalism friendliness of the Tour staff and designers made the trip extra special. This is my second trip with them and I’m already looking for the third.

GBWonderful Best of Shetland Islands and Scotland Knitting tour My husband gave me the Best of Shetland Islands and Scotland knitting tour for a birthday gift. It was an amazing tour for both of us! As a non knitter there were lots of interesting things for him to see and do. As an avid knitter, I loved the experience of taking classes from the best in Shetland. We had a wonderful lace class with Elizabeth Johnson and fair isle yoke class with Hazel Tindale. Not only were these women so kind, approachable and eager to share their expertise, they shared their lives through stories of their childhood and culture. The tour guide, Kirsty was delightful. She had a lovely sense of humor and gave us lots of helpful information re history and practicalities of Scottish culture. Our tour bus driver, Colin was very helpful and courteous. He went the extra mile and helped my husband make the ferry when he had to leave 2 days early. I had never been on a knitting tour before and I found the others in the group were very welcoming and inclusive. I would book another tour with knitting.com in a heartbeat!

AUFantastic knitting tour to Shetland Well organised tour to the Shetland Islands. The tour guide was very knowledgable about where we travelled and some of the history of Shetland. The bus driver was courteous and helpful at all times and willing to go out of his way, as time allowed, to give us the opportunity to see other things. The workshops were run by very talented women who shared their skill and knowledge in a way we could all benefit. The other tourist places were visited were in keeping with the theme of fibre and were interesting even for non knitters. I have come home with wonderful memories and new skills.
