It cleverly crafts its web page to look like the official site of the Indian Government. It's not. They act as agents and charge you circa £70 for a 30 day visa. The official Government site charges only £20. The Forms are pretty much the same. Make sure you find the official site at indianvisaonline.gov.in

Almost hopeless in getting ETV from Gov India website as their payment options both SBIepay and Axis malfunctioning due to high volume of applicants, both customer numbers only rings and drops. Application ID limits 3 attempts then you will need to afresh filled form again. Did have intensive research on said "payment error" and everywhere I see is true. etaindia saved my daughter's holiday etaindia saved my daughter's holiday. Last night we were in despair - my daughter had booked a flight to India tonight but had not got a visa and was horrified to discover she could not obtain one on arrival. After panicking and then some frantic searching I discovered etaindia who offered a 12 hour turn round on Indian visas. Although this cost twice as much as a standard e-visa there was no choice! We therefore went ahead and filled in the paperwork. and, affter submitting it we received immediate confirmation - which was reassuring. Because time was short, I telephoned their offices twice (using skype) and immediately got a reassuring update. At 11am today I got an email announcing that the visa would be delivered in 4 hours - and it duly arrived at 2pm - remarkable considering yesterday was a Sunday. In 30 minutes my daughter will be leaving for Goa singing the praises of etaindia all the way!!!

My visa card already warned me with a text message about their Indian high risk "razor" to pay the company, they claimed $135, then they actually charged $143, for a service that the Indian government makes for 100% free! My passports origin had a free visa country agreement. Contrary to the immediate phone calls I made with the fully unreliable staff and what is written on their website they don't refund it.
