Solderstick heat gun is worth owning! I must first qualify my remarks by saying I've never owned a heat gun before the one I purchased from Solderstick. When I had the need, I would borrow my wife's hair dryer, which didn't always work so well. So when I purchased the soldersticks, I decided to buy the heat gun. I'm really happy I did! The Solderstick heat gun is compact enough to get into tight places. It has a stand, which makes using it on the workbench hands-free. I am not a professional mechanic or autobody technician, so the gun has enough power for my uses (even if I was a pro I might have it in my toolbox due to its compact size). All in all, I am happy with my purchase. The heat gun wasn't all that expensive and it brings the use of Soldersticks to a higher lever of convenience.

Overall an asset to wire repairs but not a total solution for all applications. I didn’t go all 5 stars because commercials were slightly deceptive. Because the application in commercials is time accelerated, it gives a buyer the impression that application is really quite quick, but in fact takes a pretty significant amount of time to heat / shrink / melt. It’s actually much faster to accomplish the same task with old school solder iron and heat shrink. Also, the larger the solder stick part, the longer the application. The largest is almost worthless and can be hit or miss on whether it actually bonded. I mostly use this kit for the smaller sizes and that it works well for.
