Our consultation was over the phone who took time to understand the situation with our current boiler, and what we were likely to need as a replacement. Then rather than have an engineer come to visit us to confirm this, he came in for an inspection physically. The quote came over with three options, we discuss it and amazingly didn't recommend the most expensive option. We needed the new boiler ASAP and were slotted in for two days time.
