GBLong term customer of books about software I've been a customer of Apress for many years. The transactions can be easily completed using the web site. I usually like to look through the Table of Contents of a book and, if possible, read about 10 pages of the book to get a feel of whether the book topic interests me and if I like the author's writing style. Over the years, Apress has made this more difficult. In particular, I compare this to the Manning site - which I find to be even more helpful. I still buy an occasional book at Apress and I am generally satisfied with those purchases.

GBHighly Satisfied! Apress has a nice selection of computer-related books and they provide top-notch service to go with the sale transaction. I recently just ordered three titles in print format and received the print-on-demand books within roughly 2-3 weeks from the purchase date. I've been purchasing titles from Apress for over four years.

GBGood books, mediocre customer service The books are fine, but customer service is very slow at answering questions or resolving issues. Courteous, but ponderous. Expect to wait a long time and even then not get a clean resolution. As an example, I've been waiting for them to process a refund for a couple weeks now, and their most recent message was an apology that they still can't get things working correctly on their end. May be simpler to buy their products on Amazon or other distributor instead.

GBA Trustworthy and Professional Company Some of the books were print-on-demand, so I expected a slower than average delivery. This was not the case though, Apress's turnaround time is amazing. Their selection of Common Lisp books is unmatched, great company.
