GBInternational Relations Student About to go into my 3rd and final year at UoP. As an international student I was nervous about attending uni in a whole new country but I can say that I have had a good experience at UoP. There is a lot of support for international students, and the vast majority of staff and students are extremely welcoming. My course has been interesting, yet challenging. Doing second year online didn't really help but I still felt like I had a good level of support and communication from the university, which was great.

GBGreat year despite covid I am now going in to my second year at uni of Portsmouth and I really can’t wait to get started. Given the circumstances of last year with covid, my lecturers did everything they could to give us the best experience and help possible. We even managed to get a lot of face to face teaching and lab work which was a lot more than other people could get. The university RESLIFE team are also brilliant, when I had issues within my flat, reslife helped to resolve and sort them straight away. I had a great first year and I’m sure it’ll only get better.

GBCriminology and Forensic Studies Student My experience at the University of Portsmouth has been more than I imagine in many different aspects. My course is both practical and coursework base, allowing me to broaden many skills I never had before coming here. You can also participate in one-to-one tutor meetings to discuss your progress and if you need extra help with your studies. The university also has strong connections with different companies and partnerships if you want a work placement or study abroad year. In my first year, I lived in Chaucer House in an en-suite room. In my second year, I moved into a house and finally a flat both 10 mins away from the uni. The University campus is within a 15 to 20min walking distance range, so transport in Portsmouth is not a problem because you can walk everywhere. The student union has over 150 societies, all ranging from sports, cultural and course-focused ones. There’s plenty to choose from!

GBThird year student! I am not going into my third year at the university of Portsmouth and so far it has been great! I study criminology with psychology and the modules are really interesting and insightful! The university is really beneficial in terms of its careers services they provide. I am very excited to start my third year here and gain many more opportunities with the university.

GBFirst year overview University of Portsmouth has been an extraordinary experience so far. Moving abroad may seam scary at first, however there is no need to worry in this case. Each member of the staff has been extremely accommodating and invested within making you feel accepted and welcomed. The university itself provides 1st year students with secured place in the halls of your choice. If you need to self-isolate food parcels will be provided to you. There is also a wide range of part-time jobs opportunities if you wish to work alongside your studies. University even has a career centrum to help you with this process. What I do appreciate probably the most is always having somebody qualified to talk to as well as being supported even five years after my studies end.
