Norton School The second, and primary instructor, saved the day! She was superb! With her instruction, I felt like I knew what I was doing by the end of the course. Now, after having some experience with actual patients, I feel like I am sufficiently equipped to perform good care. The first instructor was very poor. She seemed overwhelmed and would contradict herself frequently, creating an environment of mistrust. I also didn't like the location of the class. It was in a congested area of the city and parking was difficult. Our room was in the basement of a hotel with no windows and uncomfortable chairs. Time was scheduled to learn from a live lymphedema patient, but the opportunity did not arise. Looking back, it would have been a good experience to actually see someone with lymphedema other than in a picture. Overall, I felt like I was well-prepared.

Learned very much but not prepared for clinic I enjoyed the course and learned a great deal. The instructors were good teachers! I was dissappointed that we did not do more with case studies as a group ( we were tested individually yet I would have loved to hear discussion about all the different cases. I felt that i had basic skills for "the ideal " lymhedema patient yet did not have good expertise with managing the complicated patient and knowing alternatives. I was expecting to have real patients to practice wrapping and to see a variety of shapes/ variations of limbs. I appreciated the lab time to truly develop our MLD skills. More case studies would helpfull to learn and apply knowledge w guidance of experienced teachers. Thank you.

Research thoroughly before you chose! Although the course appeared as if you would be getting your monies worth, it was not. It was unorganized as well as there were no true patients with Lymphedema present to understand the process. Not even videos to illustrate the sequence of the process. I enjoyed the first instructor as she related material to that of a student. However, the 2nd instructor was wrapped up in herself. She was always concerned about her lunch and going on a break. She also had to many personal issues going on that she shared daily. If a person were to take this course make sure you ask about your progress throughout the course. One student failed on the last day but there was no mention to her that she was in jeopardy. Always fully research all the schools and ask around of others opinion. I am quite sure I would have gone to their semi-competitor (External Reference) instead.

Norton School- Norton School- My time with the educators was very valuable. I learned skills that I am currently applying in my daily practice. I would highly recommend this certification course. One benefit from the class was the two instructors. one the first 1/2 and a different the second 1/2. While this was frustrating at first I can now see the reason for this and the benefit for my current practice. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that even though I took the class over a year ago I still feel the venue provided the best environment for this class.

Disappointing Instructors showed favoritism to certain students; by the end of the course, it seemed the intent was to fail most of the students instead of creating a supportive atmosphere with positive feedback. We never saw Steve Norton. ( [External Reference] appears at every class his company teaches) The location was not very convenient for out of town travelers, and the hotel had extra expenses for those staying more than a day or two. The basic knowledge presented was good and the techniques are sound and reliable for effective therapy.
