GBRepublic Wireless Not the Same After Being Bought By Dish My husband has been a Republic Wireless customer for many years with very few complaints. However, since the switch to Dish, he has been having problems accessing voicemail and has had to call and speak with a Dish/RW rep several times, always ending up speaking to a supervisor (some of whom are able to correct the problem, some who provide a work-around). I'm now researching other cell phone company plans and we will be switching. Too bad, we liked RW.

GBSince DISH acquired them, RW stinks! There was no response to support emails, so I had to call in. Call forwarding quit working on the old plan, so I upgraded to the new plan. Call forwarding still doesn't work ("SIM card error" even though everything else works), and support can't help and tells me to call the manufacturer of the phone. Also, there is no more RW app, which stinks, and that's where call forwarding used to live. Now you have to do it in the phone app. Also, it is extremely cumbersome to add more data because it has to be done through several clicks on the website, and it makes you log into the website every single time.

GBNice while it lasted, but Dish broke it. Since Dish bought the service, it no longer does any of the things I valued. No more WiFi first, which was so important to me because I travel a lot. No more voicemail on the phone. I have to call a number like it's 1999. No more messaging through WiFi. A giant step backwards. Republic did wonderful, useful things when it started, but now it is just another fair-to-middling cell plan. I will shop around.

GBNo cellular service REVISED ALLS GOOD I called Support today and the tech was able to help me reset some settings that fixed my connection issues. All's good now! I'm primarily connected to Wifi all day. Occasionally I see the voicemail icon. When I try to check it, I receive a message on screen that no Cellular network is connected. I have 0 bars unless I restart my the phone. I don't ever remember this happening the past 7+ years with Republic. If I make calls over wifi, why do I get this message. Going to give it a little time before I move to another provider.

GBCustomer service is laughable My phone's service stopped working two weeks ago. I am unable to send or receive texts or calls. Since then, I have googled and tried every single solution I can think of to restart my phone's service, to no avail. I called RW customer service and they couldn't help me, so they said they'd open a ticket for me and have some higher tech help look at it. It's been a week and I have emailed and contacted RW on Facebook messenger. They replied a couple times and since then have ignored my messages. Awful service.
