GBDependable and easy to manage We have deployed the eduGear CMT Chromebooks in grades 3-4 to transition from tablets to laptops. The school has been accustomed to Ipads and were resistance to change. However, due to the convertible nature and the ease of use for students and teachers alike, I have been asked to forgo further tablet purchases and continue with eduGear Chromebook deployments. Four months after deployment we have not had any issues with devices yet.

GBTHESE LAPTOPS ARE VERY SLOW AND THEY ARE JUNK I am currently an 8th grade student over at McDevitt Middle School in Waltham, Massachusetts. Very disappointed/ angry that the Waltham Public Schools switched to the edugear chromebooks, Shame on them. They were actually just trying to be cheap and give us junk laptops. These laptops are incredibly slow, the keyboard/ typing is very slow. the cameras are very dark and they take really bad photos. How am I going to submit an assignment or do a project that requires pictures/ videos. Some classes I need a different device to record video. Wouldn’t it be better to switch to an android tablet or keep the iPads because I can’t even use my phone. It can’t even take good photos of my assignments that I did. Plus, I can’t even take a good screenshot because the screen camera won’t let me, even though I’m using the right buttons to take a screenshot , Many students at McDevitt hate the chromebooks because of that reason. THEY ACT LIKE THEY ARE USED JUNK THAT CAME OFF OF EBAY!!! I’m not trying to be ungrateful. I just have a bad experience with chromebooks.

GBWe have an issue we are hoping doesn't … We have an issue we are hoping doesn't become wide spread with the right hinge. It seems to catch. So far 2 sent in were covered by warranty. We are hoping we don't see a rash of them. We like the cost and flip to tablet mode. They have held up well as a 1:1 device that students take home.

GBI feel that the EduGear chromebooks … are a poor quality product. I feel that the EduGear chromebooks that we purchased (over 1,000) are a terrible product. They are unreliable and have an extremely high failure rate.

GBHigh percentage of failures Our percentage of failures has been higher than any other Chromebook we have. Also not having the ability to reload the OS without sending them back to CDI is a major issue for us. We will not buy these again.
