The next time Zyla Labs contacted me was a single email with both an invoice for renewal and a receipt for charging me for another year’s subscription. Within hours I asked them to cancel my subscription and refund my money. They responded stating they could not issue a refund because "Those are the terms and conditions you accepted when you created an account with us". Charging in this manner seems very unethical to me. Had they sent their renewal invoice a day, week, or month in advance (like most ethical companies who automatically renew subscriptions), I would have unsubscribed prior to the renewal. If you have alternatives for using another API provider, I recommend steering away from Zyla Labs. Their business practices and policies do not have your best interests at heart.

However, I was astounded to discover that Zyla Labs does not offer a straightforward option to upgrade my current package. Instead, they insisted that I subscribe to an entirely new package. This approach is perplexing and makes little sense. It is unreasonable to expect customers to maintain multiple packages when all they seek is an upgrade to their current one. Regrettably, this forced me into a situation where I now have two concurrent packages with Zyla Labs, which is both unnecessary and frustrating. But the issues do not end there. When I decided to cancel one of the packages, I encountered yet another setback. Zyla Labs promptly blocked my access to the API, even though I had already paid for a year's worth of service. Consequently, not only did I lose my investment for the entire year, but I was also denied access to the API.

Normally, you would expect a company to offer the flexibility to upgrade your package, but not with Zyla Labs. Instead, they force you to purchase an entirely new package. It's utterly ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever. I feel cheated and deceived. What's worse is that they don't clearly state this policy on their website. You only find out about it after you've already signed up and are ready to upgrade. This feels like a deliberate attempt to keep customers locked into their old packages and make them pay extra for something that should be straightforward. Furthermore, Zyla Labs' customer service was utterly useless. I reached out to express my frustration and explore possible solutions, but I was treated as just another number, devoid of any empathy or willingness to find a resolution. They hid behind their rigid policies and did nothing to address my concerns. I can honestly say that I will never use Zyla Labs' services again. Their lack of flexibility, unclear policies, and inadequate customer service have left me with a negative experience. I strongly advise anyone in need of a Metals API provider to steer clear of Zyla Labs. There are plenty of other companies out there that understand the value of their customers and treat them accordingly.

Unethical Business Practices I had been a client for many years. The function was no longer needed for my business website. I chose to cancel my one year subscription on the same day it renewed. I was charged $399. Although I chose to cancel the same day it renewed I was told they could not refund me any portion of the money. I was paying one year in advance and was canceling on the renew date. Very unprofessional that a company would charge you for services not used or rendered. I would not recommend them based these practices.
