In the list of questions, they ask about counseling and if you've been diagnosed with PTS. If yes, then they want the VA to release all files regarding this diagnosis. The VA refused to release files and say they have never and will never release these files for insurance purposes. AAFMAA claimed that they do receive this sort of HIPAA protected, private information in order to provide an insurance policy. They conceded and said they would take a letter, but the letter that was provided was not acceptable to them. In the end, they declined the application for a policy. This is DISGRACEFUL and UNACCEPTABLE. Any person who has served in the US military certainly suffers from PTS and AAFMAA claims they are there for veterans. This is the joke of the century. We would never recommend them.
