GBAbsolutely terrible service Absolutely terrible service! Do not expect to get reimbursed promptly. It takes well over 30 days to get reimbursed. You’ll often be asked for more information that IS attached to your claim yet they’ll say it’s missing. They’ll also close your claim automatically without notice or without any follow up as to what’s missing. It’s a constant back and forth with them. Just yesterday I spoke to someone on the phone who clearly articulated what my claim is missing. I submitted the information. Now today I received yet another email saying I’m still missing information. This whole process is beyond frustrating.

GBDon't buy Metlife pet insurance … Until 6 months ago I was happy with Metlife but now I am receiving the same runaround as everyone else. I am repeatedly told to resubmit the same documents, the phone staff say that they have everything and that they are "making a note" for the claim reviewers, then 3 days later another 4 am email telling me to submit paperwork. Their latest game is requiring proof of previous insurance, even for brand new conditions and illnesses. If a health insurance company for people tried this they would be fine and shut down. The middle of the night emails are making me think that claims processing has been outsourced to overseas contractors. I would avoid Metlife at all costs!

GBScam It's a scam. They engage in predatory business practices. I signed up for this insurance. When one of my cats got sick and needed emergency treatment, I was so relieved that I had made the choice to get insurance... Until they denied the claim. They never responded to any of my e-mails, just sent vaguely-threatening "submit these unclear documents or else" automated e-mails. Then they denied my claim saying it was "pre-existing condition," even though it was not. Stay far away. They want to take your money, but they don't want to fulfill their responsibility when a claim arises.

GBYou replied to my Trustpilot post… You replied to my Trustpilot post requesting contact information. I sent it two days ago, No contact yet. In spite of my request from the “adjuster” I have had no return contact from her either. Your customer service is the WORST EVER and your financial responsibility dodge is the pits. You shouldn’t be in this business. ADDENDUM: I just received confirmation of a claim approval consistent with the policy coverage I paid for. What is still sad is having to go through a lot of grief to get it done correctly and timely. I thank Kaitlin Casper for a successful intercession. Let's ow long it takes to get the check.

GBNOT RECOMMENDED by this veterinarian! I am a veterinarian with coverage for 3 dogs and 3 cats through this business. I used to recommend them to everyone when they were PetFirst. After they were bought out by MetLife, things got much worse. They denied coverage for medications for my dog with congestive heart failure-- because my boss has been refilling them! Apparenly, their definition of "business partner" now includes anyone in your own practice. I am now having to go to a different practice, pay full price up front for visits, medications, etc, and then send them in. If nothing else, I was saving them quite a bit with my employee discount! Remember, if they'll do this to me, a veterinarian with a decade long set of policies who has recommended them hundreds of times to clients, what will they do to you?? Please use Trupanion instead.
