This a follow up from an earlier review… This a follow up from an earlier review After I voice my frustration with APHW they contacted me. I will say that the reimbursement process was easy and like they said they would I was reimbursed sooner than the 7 to 10 days I was told to allow. I felt better from my earlier experience. So for that I want to thank them.

Straight up fraud- don't even bother APHW stated that they would only pay 200.00 of the 550.00 repair. As I questioned this, the warranty representative stated that 200.00 is the maximum that would be paid for the repair. I looked over my contract and nowhere does it state maximum paid prices or does it have a menu of component repairs and prices. I bought this contract with the assurance that only the deductible would have to be paid upon a given repair. This company is misleading their customers.

BUYERS BEWARE - I Don’t Recommend My garage door drive belt failed due to age, wear, and tear. Policy stated it covers the garage door drive mechanism as well as the chain. Claim was denied because they only cover chains, not drive belts. They both do the exact same thing, only a drive belt is much quieter. Furthermore the drive belt is part of the garage door drive mechanism. Without a functioning intact drive belt the door does not move unless you lift or lower it manually. In spite of trying to explain this the company refused to change their decision as they only cover chains and not belts in spite of them both serving the exact same function. So BUYERS BEWARE - this company will not apply common sense and logic when evaluating a claim. They will stick to the EXACT wording in their warranty/policy brochure.

I can only say ditto to all of the… I can only say ditto to all of the other scammed customers that got taken with this warranty company. I wish ABC News would do a story about all of the loopholes this company uses to get out of paying claims taking advantage of people who don’t have money to waste on bogus coverage.

SCAM! Totally disappointed and let down by… Totally disappointed and let down by these guys. First claim we have ever made, our fridge leaked due to a broken seal and blocked drain plug. , and we have to now replace the whole floor, which our home insurance has fully covered - American Preferred though - "oh no sorry sir we only cover certain parts of your fridge and your parts are not covered - NOR is the service call we had to pay for to get a technician to look at it! - total disgrace - would not recommend them to anyone - and cancelled our own policy with immediate effect - might as well save the money and buy new when things go wrong - these guys are a SCAM!
