Initial process good then it dragged on and on Initial process was good, inputting all information requested was a chore but went fairly smoothly. Working out details got a little harder. It became progressively more difficult to get in touch with my assigned case manager. Neither phone messages, emails or texts were answered in a timely manner. After packet was submitted, and a submission date confirmed, silence fell. There were no more updates on progress or when we might see our funds. Total was eight months from date of submission of info (Feb) to funds appearing in our account (Sept). That was much longer than the 3-4 months I’d been told to expect.

American Veterans Aid does not tell you… American Veterans Aid does not tell you from the outset that they are merely a "let's-check-the boxes" outfit. They will do for you EXACTLY what the Veterans Administration will do for you FOR FREE ! But they want to charge you $2300 to begin the checklist - and they want the money UP FRONT. A veteran with any sense and gumption can do this in the same time frame as using their so-called "service."

Highly Recommend! We were extremely skeptical of this entire process, we had never heard of the benefit and were not sure if we even qualified. AVA was on top of everything from start to finish. Amazing customer service and they did everything they said they were going to do and more. Could not be happier that we trusted them with this whole process.

VA to the rescue This VA benefit has allowed my 92 year old mother to pay my brother for taking care of her 24/7 365. He has taken care of her for years and until now has been a thankless job. He feeds her a diabetic diet, administers her insulin, checks her sugar and blood pressure, makes sure she gets her meds and takes her to all of her appointments. We are so grateful for him and now he can actually get compensated for all his hard work.

American Veterans Aid Is A Must American Veterans Aid took the reins, coached and assisted me through the application process, and my mother was awarded aid within 5 months. This was money well spent. I am not sure if I could have gone through the rigorous application process alone.
