what a great hat company! I really enjoyed getting a couple hats from these folks. After I placed my order I received regular emails, with pictures, of my actual hats being completed. The updates gave a real sense of working with artisans and not some giant faceless corporation. The hats were done within a few days and arrived within a couple weeks, in a sturdy box with a cardboard form to keep their shape. The sweatbands and hatbands were very well attached and the fit was exactly as I had ordered, using the company's easy-to-use hat-fitting tape you can print on any computer printer. If you really want a hat that fits your exact size head, these folks are a great way to go.

Excellent Handmade Panama Hats Authentic handmade Panama hats (made in Ecuador) are becoming more and more rare. Having bought several Cuenca and Montecristi hats from Panama Hats Direct, I can attest to their quality, fair pricing and service. With a small head, I mostly have to have mine made to order, which produces a hat made to specification. I have kept one Montecristi in my car in Florida for several years, and worn it constantly. While it has naturally darkened a bit, there has been no degradation or cracking of the straw.

Great company, great product This is the second hat I've purchased from PanamaHats Direct. These are the genuine article- habdmade in the traditional manner. They are not inexpensive, but sales are frequent. There is some lag time from order to shipping to recipte of the product. Once ordered, they have to finish the hat- install the sweatband and hatband, finish shaping, etc. They also bulk ship from Ecuador to the US, to simply the customs process. Once in the US, the hats are sent to the individual customers. So, expect it to take 2-4 weeks ti recieved your hat. Service is first rate, and communication is excellent

It is my first Panama hat, so I did my research on quality differences, prices, terms used, and companies. All my research led me to Panama Hats Direct. I must have exchanged 5-6 emails with the Manager, William. He was always a gentleman and answered the questions in detail. The measuring process is accurate, so follow their instructions. Highly recommend this company and their hats.

Ten years shows the quality, and longevity of their hats and how happy I am to return to the same makers.
