PetFirst is the best! I've had Petfirst for several years even before it became part of MetLife and they have always had the best rates, customer service, and ease of claims. I adopted my dog 10 years ago and they saved me on any expensive procedures and also covered him at the end of his life. I have nothing but good things to say about them and definitely worth it! 5 stars

Automatically increased our policy coverage and price - no refund Automatically changed our policy from illness to illness + injury, bumping price from $35 to $92/ mo. They apparently sent us an email 2 months prior, but no other notifications. Refused to refund the difference, how is this even legal? What if they had signed us up for a policy costing $2000 / mo?

Prompt service, easy to review claims Our rescue puppy has had quite a few issues the first 6 months of his life, and we have luckily had PetFirst to help us pay for his care. Once your claims have been processed, you can log into your account online, where you can review your claims and reimbursement. If a claim is denied, they explain in detail why the charge is not covered by insurance. Overall, PetFirst is very easy to use and makes vet care for sick animals much easier to afford.

Scam Whatever you do... search around for pet insurance before you settle with PetFirst. I have been a customer for over 11 years and over the last 5 years they have increased my monthly premium $25-35. No additional benefits offered. If you want to reduce your premium they will transfer you to a salesperson whom job is to make sure they meet their bottom line so he will offered to increase your deductible to decrease premium. Also, this insurance company offer no REAL incentives. Only incentive offered to me was .. get this... if you DON’T file a claim within a calendar year you get a $25 decrease off your deductible. PLEASE do your homework before selecting a insurance company for your baby.

Surgery was classified as routine hence denied Our dog underwent a surgery, we submitted a claim with all the receipts and necessary papers. Claim was classified as routine (a surgery, really?) and denied. Scammers. Cancelling my policy now, lost money on this useless insurance by paying a year policy in advance+surgery bills out of pocket.
