GBTook the stress away My Hopscotch people were polite, respectful, and helpful when I had the stressful situation of buying a car from out of state. They took care of all negotiations and walked me through every step of the way, helping me purchase the perfect car that I probably would have been too scared to buy on my own.

GBTerribly Frustrating Experience Terribly, terribly disappointed. I was looking for a very specific 2019 BMW and was having trouble finding one with the specs I wanted. I called them and felt confident with their 100% satisfaction guarantee. I quickly heard back from Paul, who told me my search was impossible and that the car does not exist. I told him I'd actually found two of them in Portland, but the one with my preferred spec was $5.5K over Blue Book. I'm in the SF Area, but he said he had the perfect person to bring it here. We hung up and he called the dealership and got $500 off and gave me a long story about the impossibility of the used car market. I felt bad that they didn't do better or find other options, but they made me promise on our first call not to bargain with the dealer directly once I signed on with MyHopscotch, and I respected that. I said yes to the car. Then he told me it would be weeks to get it delivered, so I decided to fly up to get it myself, as my previous car had been totaled and I needed a replacement. Paul had me text him my drivers license and insurance info for the dealership and put me in contact with them. But he left me to arrange the details. And I had to re-text the dealer the DL and insurance photos, since Paul had taken a picture of his phone screen with someone else's phone, and it was unreadable. Yes, that personal info got onto someone else's phone. I figured that MyHopscotch was working on paperwork and dealing with the dealer as promised, but when I got there two days later nothing was done and it was three hours of paperwork. So... 1. Hopscotch did not find the car - I did. 2. Hopscotch did not negotiate a deal. $500 on a $49K vehicle, even in a rough market, is pretty sad. 3. Hopscotch did not help me with my paperwork. So for about 10 minutes on the phone they charged $700 AND failed to deliver what they promised. After I drove 625 miles back home and thought about it, I told Paul my disappointment. I recounted that I did most of the work and was dissatisfied. I signed them on trusting that they would make a difference, but they did not. In fact, if they had NOT been involved, I would have taken more control and probably have asked about doing more of the paperwork remotely. So I told him I wasn't going to ask for a full refund, but rather that we split the fee, recognizing that the person who took the time to set me up before I spoke with him, and his (little) time was worth something. It ultimately didn't work out, but I didn't want to "stiff" them. He was indignant and said he'd call me back. He did a few minutes later and said no. I spoke with the initial contact person about my dissatisfaction and the fact that I trusted her initial statement about the money-back guarantee. She emailed me a statement (obviously pasted into her email, and probably written by Paul), saying "this matter has been discussed at all levels of our company and there is complete alignment among all about this matter" and refusing my reasonable suggestion. Looking at many reviews, it seems that everyone worked with Paul. I don't think this is a network of operatives as they sort of imply, but rather one or two guys doing the same web searches we all do. And in my case, not as well. The few hundred dollars I wasted is not the big deal - it's that they didn't deliver and refuse to be fair and decent about admitting it. Buyer Beware!

GBHopscotch will be best decision of your car buying life! True Car wanted me to pay $1 over MSRP on a 2017 Jaguar XE 20d Premium. Autotrader and Edmonds - one wanted me to pay $1 over MSRP and the other $893 over MSRP..all three at their "preferred dealer." I paid Hopscotch $600 and saved $7000 UNDER sticker on the car, plus they helped with financing. I will never buy a car without them again.

GBDid I really get a benefit - Hard for me to understand the fast talk. At the end of the negotiation I was so confused with all the fast talk that just like dealing with a car dealer, I didn't know if I actually got a better deal than the one already available from the dealer without Hopscotch intervention.
