GBThis was ridiculous, but it got better. The automated process is ridiculous! It is a long & tedious process. At the end it wants a selfie video. It doesn't work. It either says "TOO CLOSE" or if I move one millimeter it says TOO FAR. So that was a wasted hour..... HOWEVER, the AGENT ASSISTED method worked great. All set in no time. So I'm going with one star for the automated system and 5 stars for the Agent. Net three stars. If only they didn't waste that first hour.

GBI gave up on the automatic (AI?) system… I gave up on the automatic (AI?) system after several attempts and used the virtual call system. That works. I had not been told until after several attempts that you must not scan with the 1200 dpi setting because the file size is too large. 600 dpi works fine. I had to wait 30 minutes to get it. Not great. But if you try to call the IRS you will wait for hours. Don't bother.

GBNeeds work. Website and app won't allow me to connect with a video agent. Constantly loops to "Self Help", with no option. Their chat robot is useless. And that's its best quality. Been trying for over a day to verify ID for IRS. If this is any indication of the company, I am convinced my data is not secure. Thanks for a complete waste of time. EDIT 2/28/2023 - Changed rating from one star to 3 stars. ID.me contacted me and was able to straighten out the issue. I appreciate that. However the whole process is still very convoluted and needs work.
