Rip Off Software with hidden fees Very average software which you are sneakily subscribed up to when you pay for a year. Then when you try to cancel to stop paying they say you only had 30 days. Even cancelling your credit card doesnt stop them charging as AMEX allow an old card to be used for ongoing payments!

Avoid at all cost. 2013 Smartdraw version. Of all the software packages I've used over the decades, this is the worst. Many bugs and deficiencies. I greatly regret having chosen this for software documenation as I now have to convert all my drawings to another drawing package. As for technical support....forget it.

Rather slimy business model This company charged me for a renewal without notifying me that it was coming up. (They claimed they sent an email 30 days before, but I never saw it and it wasn't in my spam or junk mail folders.) I did get a refund from them, so that part at least went well. However, after your license expires, they won't allow you to login and use your existing work. So in effect they are holding your prior work hostage until you pay them to renew.

The software keeps crashing I'm an Interior Designer and I have used SmartDraw for many years to draw layouts. It seems that it has gone worse over the years as it keeps crashing way too often and it doesn't even keep your previous versions of work. I just lost about 3 hours of work when it crashed AGAIN, even though I had saved all the time. It says I have a "damaged" file, but I can't open it. In my experience there's very little support for users.

Dark pricing patterns Okay tool, but dark pricing patterns on the "buy" page which makes me not trust the company. Right now, the pricing says $9.95 per month, billed annually. That's not $9.95 per month, $119.40. Pricing like that usually implies the ability to switch to monthly pricing, at a more expensive rate - instead, they're using an unethical pattern for pricing. The tool is fine, but the pricing model makes it an unacceptable business to work with. There are much much better tools available that offer annual AND monthly pricing (Whimsical, Mural, Miro, Figma, etc.).
