Overall a good product Overall a good product. I had a split board we had to glue. We never got the nipples for the auto waterer. Also multiple pieces were without labeling. So assembly wasn’t as easy as it could be. Also the instructions are missing info because we had to undo a couple steps because it wasn’t clear which way certain pieces should be oriented.

The product(s) are great The product(s) are great, and the people are even better. Everyone at Roost and Root worked to support exactly what we needed. They really cared about us and remembered who we were and did everything they could to help us customize our order and delivery. The thoughtful design of the greenhouse kit is very impressive. You get everything you need to assemble it with just two people, absolutely as represented!

I like the overall look and design of… I like the overall look and design of the coop. I enjoyed assembling it. The hardware seems good quality. I like the integrated feed and water. I was disappointed that a few of the pieces of wood were cracked/split or staples had pulled away and the pieces had to be re-stapled. Sometimes the instructions would state to use predrilled holes when there weren’t any at that location. The tolerances for the sections weren’t as exact as I would have hoped so the unit wasn’t completely flush together once assembled in various areas. I paid for next box mats that didn’t arrive and I haven’t received word on when or if I should expect to get them. I had been hoping that by spending 4 times more than a unit from tractor supply, that I’d have a really elegant coop but I have to admit that I probably wouldn’t have purchased this one, knowing what I know now.

Great product & excellent service. I had an excellent experience with Roost & Root. They kept me informed prior to shipping my order, set expectations up front and delivered on time. My greenhouse was packed perfectly and the build directions were easy to follow. I can't wait to start growing things! Meanwhile, I highly recommend Roost & Root

Quality Control Not as Good as My First Coop from this Company I have had an original Round Top coop since 2017 and it has been great. It was easy to assemble, and the parts fit together nicely. Unfortunately , the Starter Chicken Coop Model 2 that this review addresses is not the value for the money I hoped it would be. The quality of the wood and hardware are very good. They are much better than the foreign coops. However, the assembly was difficult because the panels and doors didn’t fit together well. After careful squaring and leveling panel edges and doors had to be sanded down to open and close properly. Some of the joints held together by staples had separated during shipment. Right now the design doesn’t fit my 4, 7 week old chicks. I purchased ‘booster’ perches until the chicks are big enough to safely access on the coop perch. It appears that a ladder or ramp is needed to reach the perch and egg box. I also had some trouble maneuvering the automatic waterer in place, and will probably need help removing it for cleaning. I do like the automatic feeder, and that the entire front panel is removable for cleaning. Based on my experience, the main area of improvement for the company would be quality control.
