GBWe've used home instead for around 4… We've used home instead for around 4 years and all in all its been an awful experience carers leaving their client in the incompetence pants and nothing else for 20mins plus. A carer has been showing up ill and spreading her germs all over my sick grandmother and my grandfather is now sick because of the 2 months she's been coughing her guts up in the faces. Had a carer even sit and watch TV while her client was crying and distressed and she did nothing. Just awful all around Now it's £32 ph it's a complete scam. Out of about 5 carers we see 2 of them do them job without being corrected after years of being here.

GBGood, caring support and new management excellent My mother is supported by Home Instead. Although she was initially reluctant to agree that she needed care, she is now very happy and looks forward to her visits. Her carers are kind and supportive, and generally keep good notes which helps me to keep an eye on what is happening with her (she has dementia so is not able to tell me much about what has happened). The relatively new management has been excellent, and I have been listened to and concerns responded to quickly

GBCompassionate, trustworthy end of life care We couldn’t have been happier with the service and care that we received. Tula in particular was a pleasure to have around at a very hard time. I would recommend Home Instead to anyone. All I ever wanted was for my Mother to pass away peacefully in her own home. This was only possible with Home Instead.

GBAppalling standard of carer, creating risk and causing distress We were truly appalled by the standard of care and the behaviour of the carer. At the basic level, she failed to attend to water intake, leading to dehydration. She put her client at risk by undertaking an ‘outing’ which appeared to suit her social preferences, rather than the needs of her client. She drank alcohol, whilst on duty. We would NEVER use Home Instead again and we warn others to be careful about the calibre of carer that they may send

GBThey are unreliable. This is just the fifth time they have done this. They are unreliable. They just walk off the job. They do not alert the patient. Try to find a reliable experienced caregiving company who will communicate with you, not people who just don’t show up and leave you hanging there, helpless.
