About Discover Books

Discover Books was launched based on the fundamental belief that used books have value and should never go to waste. Prior to our founding, many of our staff worked in the thrift industry where we saw millions of books being sent to landfills each year. With each discarded book, we thought of the imagination, magic, and knowledge lost forever to a garbage heap and we endeavored to find a better way. We think books should achieve their greatest possible purpose: Whether purchased by another reader, donated to help a child acquire the lifelong skill of literacy, or recycled as a new product, it has a story to tell. We let stories live on.

Best price and best experience My wife mention this that she was interested in a book - an older title. I entered it into google and up came discover books.com with the best price and free shipping. Really it was such a great price that there was no thought in hitting the purchase button. The gently used book came in amazing condition and the whole thing was a positive from the beginning to the end and now we have this great book on top of the positive experience.

SCAM Clearly, a fraudulent enterprise. They take your money, make up stories about the delivery and never come through with the product. DO NOT SHOP HERE....

Wrong order received but good customer service I ordered an engineering text book and received a children story instead. It is my first time buying from Discover books and I am truly unhappy about it. I tried contacting the customer service. We will see if they respond. Edit: the customer service responded quite fast. They apologized for the error and I got a refund for my order as they didn’t have the book anymore. So I moved my rating experience from 1 to 3 stars due to their good customer service. I think I will give discoverbooks another chance with a new order. Hope I won’t get the wrong order next time!

I ordered a 2nd hand book and it looked like new I ordered a 2nd hand book, when it arrived, it looked to be in pristine condition, the spine wasn't even cracked, and it's a 460 page book! Great value and exceptional shipping time. If I need another book, (or if YOU do) I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

The book was defaced when I received it. The Kissing Hand is a wonderful children's book that every parent should read with their child/grandchildren. I know that I purchased a used copy which I do quite often - the words never change after somebody else has read them. I am sorely disappointed that this book was defaced when I received it. A child's (previous owner's) name was scrawled in blue felt-tipped marker across the inside of the front cover. Shame on you for allowing a product in that condition to be sent. /r
