Top notch warranty handling I had a problem with a Fireplace remote, and it was handled swiftly and simply by the rep I talked to over the phone - and got a replacement. They automatically pulled up my original purchase by auto recognizing my phone number.

Good specifics about policies, but not with the actual product information There was a lot of helpful and specific information about returns, shipping costs, and exchanges. The flat rate shipping costs for any purchase below $99 would be great for some purchases, but not so much for me and my small item. I also was going to purchase a "T" connector to accommodate greater spread to the fire starter instead of just having a straight line fire starter pipe with holes; but there wasn't enough information to know how the "T" worked. More information in the description of the products would be helpful. i.e can you buy an 8" bar to add to the "T" to make all the three arms functional? What do you attach to the "T" fitting? Is one end on one pipe blocked, or are both pipes blocked on one end? Is the block removeable? Because of the lack of information, I just ended up buying the 17" bar to replace mine which had failed after 10 years. This wasn't really what I ideally wanted. Addendum - The 17" lighter pipe arrived on time and exactly as described.

Knowledgeable Customer Service The customer service was wonderful. She was able to help me determine why the remote I had would not work with my fireplace and helped me determine exactly the one I would need. My replacement arrived on time and worked exactly as described. I wish I would have called Fireplace Remote Controls at the beginning and saved myself some time.

Had exactly the right part Had exactly the right part, although it seemed a bit expensive. Website was easy to use, and I was pleasantly surprised when the remote arrived before I had expected. Also, quite simple to pair the remote with the existing receiver.

Easy install I only wanted an on/off remote and was able to get one for around $100. Local fireplace store wanted $225. Personable and knowledgeable sales people with easy peasy install. Would definitely recommend.
