The installers of the floor covering were here on time and the day that was promised to me. It is hard to find contractors to take a vested interest in asking the consumer how they like their work or are you satisfied with the flooring. This was quite impressive to me coupled with the fact the contractors wanted me to be satisfied. Excellent local company. Bob B. gave 100% to source the bamboo flooring I wanted which was not available locally, and at a better price than the only other company in town which carried bamboo. Once the shipment was received, installation was prompt and professional. The work was completed in 1-1/2 days, at minimal inconvenience to our comfort. United Floor Covering is a local company. I strive to hire and shop locally as much as possible to support our community. It's a double win-win to shop local and get excellent service as well.

I've been very pleased with my… I've been very pleased with my experiences with United Flooring, they replaced the carpet with hardwood 2 years ago, and replaced linoleum with tile this year. Owner is very nice to work with, and the workers did an excellent job.

Extremely Unhappy in Merced The product installed had no resemblance to the sample provided by United Floor Covering/Carpet 1. Although we realized that there would be some variance because it was a natural wood product, the sample showed almost no variation in color, while the installed product varied dramatically with many pieces much darker than the sample. The sample had no prominent knots; the product had numerous dark knots and filled areas. We made our likes and dislikes clearly known to the salesman. We never would have gone with a sample that looked like what we got; we would have rejected it out of hand. The salesman called us many times prior to contract signing (sometimes twice a day); we did not hear from him again after that, except for a brief visit on the first day of installation. When we expressed our concerns over the coloring/variation, he said relax and guaranteed we'd love. Not loving it!!! Midway through installation we contacted Dave and requested he visit and bring the sample. He came the next morning (without the sample). He again expressed our concerns over the coloring and extent of variation; he said he personally liked the variation. Silly us, we thought that what we liked was important. Guess not. We had no issues at all with the installers themselves. They did the best they could with the product they had to deal with, even though they said it was much more difficult to install than most hardwood floors. The sample was not representative at all. This is certainly the fault of the distributor; if United Floor Covering had previous experience with this particular floor they definitely led us astray as well.
