Simply the Best Halon is simply the best tax strategy and preparation firm out there for entrepreneurs. Their prices are reasonable, their people are great, and the output is spotless. Often, I've felt like big accounting firms look at me like I'm not supposed to be there or assume I already know how to be strategic in tax planning while they're just there to literally fill out the tax forms. Halon will have a conversation with you to discuss what you don't know, which I find absolutely invaluable. Honestly, I can't recommend them highly enough.

For Independent Contractors Seeking Great Accountants As an independent contractor, the idea of finding a good CPA within my budget was overwhelming. But when I happened upon Halon Tax in a Google search, and after several telephone conferences and dozens of emails back and forth, I was surprised by their patience, care and support as they helped me correct mistakes that I had made in the prior 2 years of doing my own taxes. Not only are their prices reasonable, their team is very responsive - by phone, email and chat. I have now been with Halon for over 3 years and would gladly recommend them.

RUN away. Do not waste your time with this firm. Initially signed on with them for a monthly contract. Everything seemed great, included tax returns (business and personal), bookkeeping help, able to ask questions, etc. Three months into it, they changed their business offerings around, charging the same amount of money and limiting what they would help with. After realizing their business model was not lucrative enough, they switched it on their users. On top of this, it was near impossible to get a timely meeting on the calendar. THE BEST PART - they shut off their meeting scheduler during tax season to keep their customers from scheduling meetings with them! Bass Ackwards if you ask me! Lastly, I was recomended to file as an S corp. Accountant placed this form in my return but failed to submit it to the whoever needed to receive it (as I am finding out now, a year later). This firm is extremely unprofessional and has no idea what they are doing. Please do yourself a favor and RUN, not walk, run away. Update - Their reply is ridden with lies. They shut off their calendars the majority of tax season. This company is the one who suggested I become an S corp. Based on their monthly fee, which I was paying, they said they would do it. Never happened. The most unprofessional firm I have dealt with to this day - trying to lie their way out of crappy reviews.
