GBI'd go 4.5 stars if available I'd go 4.5 stars if available. I'm retired from mtg business (real estate appraiser) and everything went as expected. Even fees, which are admittedly complex, were within a few dollars of what was projected; that's hard to do.

GBGood experience Overall, our experience was good. In the beginning, communication was very poor and we were hit by the fear of "We just gave all our financial information to someone we don't know and now they won't return our calls!" But, soon we were connected with a much more attentive rep that was great walking us through the process. We did have LOTS of hiccups of getting a notary out to do the signing, but don't think that was SYOM's issue. Overall, we would recommend.

GBI would try somewhere else Worthless. Contacted these guys to see if I was in a spot to move forward or not To get pre-qualified. Contacted by text message and worked with Brenda Gloriani. At first was getting all the info I needed. Was instructed on how to use their app to upload the documents they needed. I asked as many questions as I could, most of which were answered. But then I started hearing less from her. Was asking when will I hear something and was just being told ‘soon’. Was then told there was some kind of technical issue, after I sent all my info. That went on for like a week. Was told they were basically having to do it manually, whatever that meant. That went on for weeks. The whole thing was sloppy, especially for a newish company using an app. Not reassuring at all..I thought everything would be smooth, but maybe it was just my agent. I went online to their website to look at their staff page to see if Brenda was even a real person or just a text response bot, and it seemed like she was real, which made it even more disappointing because of the communication. I felt like an annoyance more than a client. In all, I ended up asking something like ‘how much longer?’ about a dozen times. After finally getting a snippy response text saying “Today!”, they quietly sent me an email and said nothing to me about it being sent. I looked it over after stumbling on it the next day and then contacted again about it and I never heard anything back. That was months ago. I decided to just let them go and try with someone else in a few more months. Nothing at all about them told me I should keep trying. Not like there aren’t 100 different companies doing the same thing. In total, I spent around a month of back and forth with SYOM, and only got a headache out of it. If you decide to try with this group, get them on the phone or meet in person if possible. At the very least, stay away from Brenda if you actually want to get something accomplished.

GBACTIVE DUTY AND VETERANS BEWARE ACTIVE DUTY AND VETERANS BEWARE: I have had the most horrible experience with this company. I first dealt with Jordan from the Costa Mesa Branch she dropped the ball NO CONTACT-KEPT STRINGING US ALONG. Than I called to complain and I was going to walk away at this time but spoke to a Garrick (with same branch) who claims to be the owner of the company and he ASSURED me that we would close on a date that came and went. He stated that UWM (united wholesale company) was the problem. Contacted this company and came to find out that it was them that had dropped the ball again. He mad promises after promises and since November of 2019 my husband and I have been strung along. My family and I have wasted 3 months giving this company a chance to come thru. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MILITARY STAY AWAY. I am contacting the better business bureau as well. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME they will even tell you not to pay your mortgage. Can you believe that. I have learned a lesson from this, trust your gut if it seems to good to be true....RUN.

GBExcellent experience with home refinance This was my first home refinance and I was referred to SYO. Paul was wonderful to work with: he made the process easy, straightforward and streamlined. I bid with other companies and the others had hidden fees and rate discrepancies. SYO was transparent and had lower rates and fees so it was an easy choice.
