Hello and thank you for stopping by our site. We are a nationwide company with over centers throughout the US and Canada. We service, repair and rebuild all types of transmissions for both individuals and fleets companies. Typically, we work with clients who have transmission problems and are frustrated with the process of getting their car repaired. Our clients have told us before we started working with them they were concern with being overcharged for work performed. They were afraid of being lied too and would be charged for work that they did not need. Now, you probably don’t have these concerns, if you do, then you should call and find out if you qualify for a free complete transmission checkup. This includes a road test and external examination of your transmission, where we will evaluate the performance and condition of your vehicle's transmission, and determine what services, if any, are required.

Best Service in town I personally had my transmission rebuilt by Cottman's of Durham. They not only came in under the quote, but my truck was ready a day early and has run like a dream ever since. The people are so friendly, they obviously see each other as family and when you walk through the door you too become part of that family. Since repairing my truck I have sent my Mom to have work done by them too. She is older and doesn't handle the pressures of car repairs and cost well. She has been treated so kindly both times she has gone in to have repair work done. They have been patient with her and thoroughly explained what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix the problems in a quick and cost efficient manner. They have impressed me beyond words. Like most people, my Mom is the world to me and to know that they have taken such good care of her and helped ease her worries along the way touches my heart. I would recommend them to ALL of Durham, they go above and beyond and if I could give them 10 stars I would, just know the 5 I gave was as high as I could go but they deserve so much more recognition!!!!!!

Put a transmission in August 2017 and… Put a transmission in August 2017 and have gone back 4 times due to transmission leaking and not performing sufficiently. This last time the GM was at the store and I told him what was going on. He told me the core was not working correctly and we started at the beginning. The GM said that he would start my warranty over for another year. I really appreciated that from him. His name is Jody and he was in the Durham store. Thanks a lot Jody for your help and patience.

Difficult Problem to Solve I took my car in with a problem that seemed to defy explanation. Susan was wonderful about hanging in there and continuing to work on solving the problem. She kept me constantly informed about the issue. It did take some time to solve the problem, but she did not give up.

First Class Customer Service Great experience! Cottman's definitely has the customer service skill locked and loaded. Hope I don't need them again anytime soon but if I do, I would not hesitate. Thank you!

I was very satisfied with the work … on my 350Z. I was very satisfied with the work performed by Cottman of Durham. Jody was very professional and provided clear and detailed information regarding the work (valve body replacement) to be done. Throughout the process, Jody called and share updates/changes along the way. Everything happened in the manner and timeframe in which Jody described when diagnosing and completing the work to be performed. This work was completed a couple of weeks of ago and my car continues to perform well. Unfortunately, Jody was assigned to another store out of town when my car was ready to be picked up. The employee facilitating the return of my car had an odd-ball character, could not share definitive information concerning the warranty and, vehemently questioned why I was concerned about the warranty. Really? When Jody became aware of this awkward situation, he contacted me the very next day and apologized for the employee's behavior and made sure all my questions about the the warranty were addressed and any other questions were answered.
