Disappointed Theft...put items in storage while renovating my house...only need like 2 months to complete the task...in less than 2 months my storage was broken into. Security is deplorable and then it was hassle to get the little insurance check...terrible establishment avoid this company like the plague.

Great for what I needed Had a 10x15 for a few months no issues. While I was still charged for another month it was refunded. For me it was the location being the most accessible. If I ever need storage in the future I would certainly rent from them again.

Prospective renters beware New and prospective renters should be aware of two things about Extra Space Storage. First, they will give you a good deal for a couple of months and then make a huge increase in your monthly rent. Second, even if you tell them you will use your own padlock, they will leave one anyway. If you return it right away, they say they will give you a credit. But, being busy moving your items, if you ASSUME you will get a refund when you move out, you will be wrong. Their policy is to not give refunds or credits on your credit card. You will be stuck with a $20 padlock that you can buy at any hardware store for $10.

Facility is overrun with rodents Facility is overrun with rodents. There is NO FOOD of any sort in my unit. The FIRST night rodents ate the covers off several photograph storage boxes. I found droppings on virtually every surface, and inside any box not tightly sealed. Management says it is the fault of tenants storing food, while only one trap is installed for 30+ roll up doors in my location. Must move ASAP.

Business Model is a Scam Houston, Katy Fwy location. Agree that they bait you with special rates and double it next month! They called me in saying that there was a foul smell coming from my unit and when we went to check we had to cut the lock because for some reason my keys didn’t work and I had to buy a new lock for $20. Nothing was wrong with my unit other than the lock not working and there was NO SMELL. Very weird experience. Cannot understand why my keys did not work. I plan to move out soon.
