About TPO Mobile USA

TPO was started by three friends sharing a common vision. To transform something that people use everyday, their mobile phones, into a force for good. They launched it in late 2012 in the UK and it's been growing ever since. In January 2014, Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, joined the company. Our goal is to raise billions for good causes worldwide, delivering goodness with every connection made. 10% of customers’ mobile bill is directed to their cause or charity of choice at no extra cost to them.

I am very happy with TPO I am very happy with TPO. It isn't the quite low operating cost that keeps me happy, although that's a definite plus. It's the fact that a part of my monthly fee goes to the charity of my choice. That definitely matters. I would give it five stars except that it's range isn't always the absolute best. Nonetheless, it's usually just fine for my needs.

Despite a problem with the SIM card for … Despite a problem with the SIM card for my phone, due to misinformation on the TPO website, I have no regrets about switching to them as a provider! I like that I can choose what charity I support, & their customer service in resolving the SIM card issue was excellent. Plus, they're MUCH cheaper than my former provider!

Bad Billing Started with TPO in Aug 2017 and just terminated service on April 11. Discovered they were charging a sales an utility tax for a City where I don't reside. They researched, agreed with me, blamed a third party vendor, refunded the amount collected, but then kept collecting it month after month (crediting the previous month on the bill and charging it all over again). Billing is not transparent - you have to ask for detailed billing information. I'd be hard pressed to recommend the carrier.

TPO is reasonably priced (for the US) TPO is reasonably priced (for the US), but the coverage isn't great. For some reason, I have no coverage in the old buildings in which I work and live. Other networks do have coverage in these buildings. I don't know what the problem is, but this is definitely a drawback! I also travel a lot for work and do not consider the international packages available either user friendly or reasonably priced.

Rude customer service The pricing is great but they must train their customer service representatives to be rude. I had to speak with no fewer than 4 or five in porting 3 phones from different carriers to TPO in getting the right port passcodes, cdma/sim cards etc... without exception each one was rude and marginally helpful. At least they seem to be located in this country and spoke english.
