GBSears Home Service $165 Diagnostic fee Scam! I scheduled an appointment to repair my GE Dryer in Hempstead, NY and explained the issue was the timer needs to be replaced. The Sears representative on the phone that the cost for the visit is $165, however, the charge will be applied towards the cost of the repair not including the part. The service order number is 42284870. On 4/3, the Sears tech showed up and confirmed the issue was the timer but stated the labor cost is always a minimum of $350 to $400 not including the part. The cost of the labor plus the part would then exceed or equal the cost of buying a new one. I explained to the tech that the Sears Customer representative never stated there is a minimum labor cost to repair equal to $350 to $400 not including the part, and if I was informed of this information, I would not have booked the appointment. Sears Home Services should credit the charge of $129.71 since they are withholding information on what the base labor charge is to customers which is critical to making a financial cost effective decision on whether to book an appointment that has a $165 fee. The tech spends less than 5 minutes at your home, before they tell you the excessive base labor charge of $350 to $400. Hence, they are making $165 for less than 5 minutes of work which is a scam if done in the aggregate and multiple homes are done in one day.

GBWashing machine never repaired Washing machine never repaired Our experience with trying to get our washing machine repaired has been going on since January 2024. We finally gave up after several attempts to get the situation resolved and bought a new machine from Lowes. We did attempt to get our money back after having paid in advance to have our machine repaired, but were not successful. Much of the delay was due to a part being out of stock. I discovered a couple of week ago that the part was in fact in stock, but was never notified to set up a time for someone to come out and complete the repair - in fact, the job was canceled without any input from me. Stay away from Sears Home Services - go with a trusted local company.

GBQuick and efficient Quick and efficient. Showed me (and saved for me) the defective parts. Explained why it happened and had everything in his truck. Explained benefit and recommended frequency of a tune-up on the appliances. Even performed them during this visit without having to reschedule. Very pleased.

GBI have had the Sears Home Warranty for over 5 years I have had the Sears Home Warranty for 5 years. Some times troubles, but this was during Covid. The Sears Techs were here to help during this time, and since then as well with my appliances. If needing to reschedule, would let me know.. Otherwise, the professional people being scheduled for the work to be done on my dishwasher and refrigerator has been worth the monthly payment. thank you

GBGreat customer service!!! The dryer drum stopped turning and I was hoping our technician dispatched, was Scott (since I had previous great service with him and Sears Home Services). And, I was not disappointed. He found the broken belt and had it replaced in no time. He was used to the complicated removal of parts to get to replacing the belt. This comes with knowledge and experience. He also has a great personality and extortionary professionalism. He can fix anything!
